Yesterday, it was announced that there soon would be an SP1 release for Configuration Manager 2012, and with quite a few great changes from the RTM.

Here are some of the updates posted at Kent Agerlund’s blog yesterday:

New OS support:

  • Windows 8
  • Windows 8 tablet – Intel SoC tablets support
  • Mac OS X
  • Linux and Unix

– Changes in SQL replication

– Now it will be possible to add a new CAS, after you have created a stand-alone primary site. At the moment, you can not  add a stand-alone primary site to a hierarchy, meaning you would have to start from scratch.

Changes in settings management:

  • User Profile and Data Management
  • Client Side Caching
  • Roaming User Profiles
  • Folder Redirection
