Today I received an e-mail from Microsoft congratulating me on the new certification MCSA: Windows 7. MCSA stands for “Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate” and these are entry-level certifications in the new Microsoft certification structure. Turns out that everyone that has had either the “MCITP: Windows 7, Enterprise Desktop Administrator” or “MCITP: Windows 7, Enterprise Desktop Support Technician” certifications will receive this new certification automatically.

If you have received the MCSA: Windows 7 certification, you will only need to take another upgrade exam for the Windows 8 certification. This exam has not been released yet.

This is the e-mail I received:

“Congratulations on earning your Windows 7 certification! We hope you enjoy the benefits of your certification and of membership in the Microsoft Certified Professional community.”

This is now my second MCSA certification that I have received for “free” and here is my new MCSA logo from the MCP website 🙂
